My Passions

Life is about passions and actively pursuing them. I believe that in our current society a lot of people are forgetting to do the most important thing in their life which is: actually living it. There are so many, in my opinion, stupid and useless ‘rules’ dictated by society that people are overwhelmed most of the time and limit themselves in many ways just to fit in those molds society dictates.

I have yet to reach 30 (though I’m very close) and I can proudly say I’ve done a good job ignoring those society imposed limitations and live life by my rules, and more importantly enjoy my life to the fullest. So far I’ve lived in 4 different continents, 6 countries and traveled to many more countries (I define ‘living in a country’ as actually being there for at least 3 months, renting an place etc). I’ve jumped out of an airplane from 16000ft, traveled to the most southern part of the World (Ushuaia – Argentina), I’ve done Brazilian Carnival, partied at the last ever Love Parade in Berlin (the original one) with more then half a million other party people. I’ve snowboarded in Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand (still some missing there 😉 ), visited the Great Barrier Reef (before its too late), seen Machu Picchu (before its too late), pretended to be on another planet at Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia), visited NASA Houston (from where they actually go outer space) and seen so many other amazing places and met an equal amount of amazing people.

One of these society imposed rules (or brules -Bullshit Rules- as Vishen Lahkani likes to call them) I hate the most is that people often say that if you want to be successful in life you need to get up early. Guess what I HATE getting up early and haven’t done so for the last +/- 9 years or so. I generally do not wake up before 11am. Of course sometimes I have to to catch a flight, do something I need to do, go snowboarding or an occasional early appointment. However in general I just don’t. Am I lazy? Hell no.. I probably work more hours in a day then all those people telling their Children / students that stupid brule.

So how do I do all this?

It has to do with one of my passions; Entrepreneurship. I started doing online business when I was 14 years old and I’ve been doing that ever since. I’m not rich (yet 🙂 ) but I’ve been doing well enough to do what I want and travel to all kinds of places around the world. Due my travels I’ve never really had any goals to grow my business into a 6 or 7 figure business.

Instead I was enjoying my life to the fullest. I believe that when you are young and have the opportunity to travel and discover the world you are missing out gigantically if you don’t grab that opportunity with both hands! However things change when you get older. Now getting very close to 30 I’ve decided that I want to settle down to create a place to ‘come home to’, find myself a country to live in (harder then it sounds) and get my business to really take off to bigger heights so I can start fulfilling bigger life goals. such as what I’ll be doing to contribute to the world to make it a little better and some other more selfish goals :).

My Passions

  1. Snowboarding (pretty much the only reason why I voluntary get up at 7am)
  2. Science / Technology – I have a Master in IT degree but I do regret to some degree never going into science such as quantum physics
  3. Travel – Actually I don’t like the act of traveling too much however I love visiting new places, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people. So until they invent the Star Trek teleporter machine I’m stuck traveling by normal means to go anywhere 🙂
  4. Entrepreneurship (One of my biggest inspirations on exemplary leadership and entrepreneurship is Vishen Lahkani )
